We’re looking for a dependable and skilled Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician to help keep our facility opering safely, efficiently, and the highest standards.
About the Role
The Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, functionality, and appearance of KanPak’s buildings and surrounding grounds. This role involves skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work across multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and groundskeeping.
You’ll work with a high level of independence while coordining closely with Engineering and Capital Project leadership to support food safety, regulory compliance, and facility reliability.
Wh You’ll Do
Main Functions:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, roofs, siding, walls, flooring, and exterior surfaces
- Complete interior and exterior painting projects as needed
- Repair and pch flooring to maintain safe walking surfaces
- Remove snow and apply salt to roadways, walkways, and access points
- Perform minor electrical repairs, including:
- Wall switches and outlets
- Light fixtures, bulbs, ballasts, sockets, and fuses
- Minor appliances and cords
- Perform minor plumbing repairs, including:
- Fixing faucet and drain leaks
- Unclogging drains
- Trenching and laying small utility lines
- Replace HVAC filters and clean exhaust fans
Responsibilities Reled to the Job:
Coordine GSF Quality activities and operions to meet objectives for quality, food safety, regulory compliance, cost, safety, and customer sisfaction KanPak.
Participe in formuling and administering division’s short- and long-range goals and objectives for business growth.
Equipment & Tools
- Safely opere hand tools, power tools, and small equipment
- Opere forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, mowers, loaders, and snow plows
- Estime time and merials needed for maintenance and repair tasks
Other Responsibilities
- Work flexible hours as required to support facility needs
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company informion
- Perform other reled maintenance duties as assigned
Wh We’re Looking For
Required Qualificions
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license (must be maintained)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of safe work practices
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year of building and grounds maintenance experience
- Food manufacturing or food industry experience (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, grinders, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.)
- Experience opering forklifts and lift equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills and tention to detail
- Self-motived, reliable, and accountable
- Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and pride in work
The Schedule and Setting:
Pay Range (Base Pay): $22/hour
Days: Tuesday-Friday 10hr Shift or Monday-Thursday 10hr Shift
Shift: 6a-4p
Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to distinguish colors, sounds, and smells as required for safety and maintenance tasks
